The Junior Cybersecurity Analyst Internship is a structured, practical programme. Assess a fictional small-business environment using supplied asset, scan, alert, and traffic data

  • Build an asset and exposure summary, validate selected vulnerabilities, and triage suspicious activity
  • Correlate evidence into a concise incident hypothesis and map observed behaviour to MITRE ATT&CK
  • Prioritise remediation by likelihood, impact, and operational effort without overstating scanner results
  • Deliver an analyst workbook, risk register, investigation notes, management summary, and remediation plan
  • Use only supplied systems and sanitised evidence; never scan public targets or retain credentials

Eligibility & Prerequisites

Eligibility

  • Interest in cybersecurity fundamentals and analyst roles
  • Currently enrolled in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Willing to learn and apply both red and blue team techniques
  • Basic familiarity with computers, networks, and OS navigation
  • Able to commit at least 15 hrs/week during the 8-week program
  • Motivated to build a career in cybersecurity
  • Eager to develop technical and analytical skills

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of networking (IP, ports, protocols)
  • Familiarity with Linux/Windows operating systems
  • Comfortable using the command-line interface
  • Willingness to explore security tools and frameworks
